Razor's Edge is the fourth episode of season two of SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, and the seventeenth episode overall.

Synopsis[]

At Megakat Super Conductors, a night watchman is ambushed by several Kommando-Kats, who steal several crates containing super conductor cable. The theft is part of Dark Kat's latest scheme to destroy Megakat City, which he is confident will succeed even when the Enforcers arrive in response to an alarm sent by the guard. Dark Kat soon is making his escape in his Black Widow craft, only for the Turbokat to appear in pursuit. Having anticipated this development, Dark Kat leads the SWAT Kats in a chase and is delighted when they fire missiles on him.

The missiles end up crashing into a warehouse, and Dark Kat then makes his escape. Meanwhile, the SWAT Kats pick up an emergency signal regarding injured civilians at the warehouse. Commander Feral is quick to pin the blame on the SWAT Kats and swears to make them pay for the injuries. Jake is left deeply shaken by this development in spite of the fact that he didn't intend any harm. He is thus visibly nervous when the pair respond to a call about another robbery by Dark Kat's minions.

The Enforcers are once again helpless against the Black Widow, but when Razor has the chance to open fire on Dark Kat's vehicle he finds himself unable to do it for fear of causing more harm. Dark Kat takes advantage of Razor's hesitation to gum up the Turbokat's engines, and T-Bone is only narrowly able to rescue them from a crash. Back at base, T-Bone sets about cleaning out their engines while Razor takes the Cyclotron out on a ride to try and clear his head. After he leaves, T-Bone notices a news story about the warehouse and is puzzled by the damage, which doesn't fit from the impact of their missiles.

Going to investigate the site, T-Bone is jumped by an attacker who turns out to be Felina Feral, who is just as suspicious about the damage. She shows him evidence that the building was rigged to explode, a clear sign that someone was trying to ruin his and Razor's image. Meanwhile, Dark Kat's plans near completion as his Black Widow has been upgraded into a massive, mechanized monster. Razor, meanwhile, goes to the hospital to visit the "victims" of his missile strike, only to find them hostile and unforgiving.

As he's about to leave, Razor sees a news story about the attacking Black Widow and is about to rush off when the "victims" discourage him. However, after one of them mentions Dark Kat, Razor realizes that the two are his agents, and a fight soon erupts between Razor and the two. Razor soon wins and hands the imposters off to the arriving Enforcers before heading off to help stop Dark Kat. He's not a moment too soon, as Dark Kat's Black Widow begins draining power and growing to even more massive size.

T-Bone, flying alone, arrives to confront the Black Widow but finds himself at a disadvantage without Razor's help. Fortunately, Razor arrives in time to cut T-Bone loose and then joins him aboard the Turbokat. The Black Widow then heads for the main power plant, with the SWAT Kats and Commander and Lieutenant Feral in close pursuit. Dark Kat is soon draining power directly from the city's grid, but Razor-confidence restored-fires missiles that take out a power tower.

Dark Kat, having already drawn enough power into his machine, sets out on his true rampage, which takes him through Megakat Park. Razor, hitting upon a plan, blasts a hole beneath the Black Widow before using missiles to dig trenches leading to the crater. The Black Widow proves to be waterproof...until Razor's next missile drills a hole through its armor and causes a massive short circuit that soon tears Dark Kat's creation apart. Boarding the wrecked craft, the SWAT Kats and Felina hope to capture Dark Kat, only to find that he's already made his escape and-in typical fashion-rigged the Black Widow to explode. The trio manage to escape, and the SWAT Kats vow to be ready whenever Dark Kat appears again.
